Despite only being in the job for a few months, he secured a place in the top four and masterminded the club’s success in the Champions League as they were crowned European champions for the second time.
Having played Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool away and to have 13 points from their first five games has led to former stars Darren Bent and Darren Ambrose labelling him ‘the best’ manager in the top flight at the moment.
“Yes, he is,†said former striker Bent on Sunday night’s Boot Room on talkSPORT.
“You’d say currently, yes he is, obviously you got Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, but this guy makes big decisions at crucial times, just at the right time,†added Ambrose.
Since taking over Stamford Bridge, and following Sunday’s 3-0 win over Spurs, Chelsea have kept more clean sheets (15) than they have conceded goals (14) in the Premier League under Tuchel.
