Lionel Messi hint of Retirement As Argentina Crash Out To France

The FIFA 2018 World Cup may just be Lionel Messi’s last of his career following Argentina's defeat to France on Saturday.

Argentina were beaten in the last-16 stage following a 4-3 loss to Didier Deschamps' side at the Kazan Arena.

For Messi, the Russia 2018 World Cup will represent a huge frustration as he failed to inspire his side to another final.

Argentina were beaten by Germany in the 2014 World Cup final but under Jorge Sampaoli this summer, the team always looked disorganized and far short of the quality required to make it far in the competition.

Messi will be 35 if he were to appear at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar but the Barcelona forward indicated just a few months ago that he may possibly retire from international football.
