Lionel Messi Injury Worsens, Set To Be Sidelined For A Month

Lionel Messi to miss El Clasico after fracturing his arm against Sevilla

Lionel Messi is still not fully recovered from his injury.

What first started as a serious but non-threatening injury August 5 has now become a real issue for Barcelona.

The Argentine is having trouble recovering from what first seemed like a simple yet believable excuse not to travel to the United States in the preseason, and as La Liga reaches its third week Barcelona fans are beginning to worry.

The team star did not take part in the squad training this Wednesday either. He has only taken part in two group training since he came back from his holiday: when he first got injured, and when the injuries came back last Saturday.

Furthermore, the latest reports claim that his injury may have worsened.

‘RAC1' claims that Messi may have worsened his already existing injury, which could lead to another month on the sidelines.

Valverde is not planning to take any risks with Leo Messi.

The team captain will be forced to rest up during the following international break due to a playing ban for his comments after the Copa America, which means he should not be making an appearance until September 14 against Valencia.

If his injury has indeed worsened, he could be out for even longer.
