Liverpool submit bid for Croatia defender Domagoj Vida

Liverpool have allegedly tendered an offer of £12m for Croatia defender Domagoj Vida.

The 29-year-old, who has featured for Croatia all through the FIFA 2018 World Cup finals in Russia, started alongside current Reds defender Dejan Lovren in Saturday’s penalty-shootout victory over Russia and scored his country’s second goal.

According to Turkish outlet Aksam, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is eager for Vida to partner up with Lovren on Merseyside and has registered solid interest in capturing the Besiktas centre-back.

The news outlet says that while Vida could be keen for the transfer, the four years left on his existing contract, along with his performances in Russia, possibly will allow Besiktas to raise the defender's price tag appreciably.

Vida spent five years at Dynamo Kyiv before he moved to Turkey.
