Liverpool vs. Burnley: four key players to watch in the match

Jurgen Klopp and his wards will entertain the likes of Burnley at home this weekend as anticipation rages at Anfield.

It promises to be an interesting match-up between these two EPL sides as they are both fond of masterminding spirited performance in the course of a game.

The lunchtime kick-off will see Jurgen Klopp go head to head with Sean Dyche's on the tactical front while some of the players available for selection have to rise up to the occasion in this fixture.

With all said and done as pertaining to the match, we evaluate the four key players to watch as Burnley travel to Anfield to face Klopp’s Liverpool side.

Sadio Mane (LIVERPOOL, Forward)

The Senegalese hitman would be a star to reckon in this fixture despite his no show of goals against Norwich at the Carrow Road.

The African star has an excellent record against Burnley with four goals and an assist against the Clarets in nine League games for Liverpool.

Though the Senegalese have an underwhelming campaign last season he's showing some signs of positive during the convincing win over Norwich.

He would be expected to provide attacking flair upfront for his side as Klopp would hope he troubles the Burnley defence at Anfield this weekend.

Ashley Barnes (BURNLEY, Striker)

The Burnley goal-getter is a player Liverpool must watch out for in this fixture. His strength in aerial duels and his eye for goal makes him a dangerous man from all grounds.

The Red defence cannot afford to slip up at all otherwise Barnes will punish them immediately with a bounce.

If Liverpool is to come out on top in this match they must find a way around Ashley Barnes especially with his runs into the box.

He ended Liverpool’s 68 games unbeaten run with a spot-kick last season, so expect him to carry his side major threat going into this contest.

Virgil Van Dijk (LIVERPOOL, Defender)

The returning Dutch centre half showed his importance to the Liverpool side as they kept a clean sheet alongside Alisson Becker a great deal of form in goal.

He’s been integrated back into the Liverpool side with the aim to shore up the defence even as he provides the inspiration necessary for his team to thrive from the back.

He’s an asset for the club (Liverpool) even as he's gradually getting up to the required level he was before following his long term layoff from injury last season.

Jack Cork (BURLEY, Midfielder)

The Burnley man will be a starter in the side as he carries one of his manager life ahead of the Liverpool tie.

Alongside Ashley Westwood, he would be a midfield machine as they work towards breaking Liverpool play in the central areas.

The goal would be to frustrate Liverpool's pattern of play while they launch their own attack in the quest for a possible win.

How well he fares in this game can determine his side’s fortune as they aim to stifle possession from Liverpool trio of Naby Keita, Fabinho and James Milner in their bid to stake a claim for the available three points.
