Luis Suarez, according to his recent social media post, has indicated that he is staying in Barcelona.
Juventus has been linked to the 33-year-old but there is a new club in the mix with Atletico Madrid said to be in talks with Suarez.
The Uruguayan was widely believed to be in the final stages of securing a deal with Juve but somehow referenced to it as “fake news” following his post on Instagram. The caption of that post read: “When FAKE NEWS is coming out…” via Goal.
Suarez was told by new manager Ronald Koeman to look for another club since he was not part of his plans but there were suggestions that he could make a u-turn especially after Lionel Messi decided to stay at Camp Nou.
The social media post could mean something else, possibly explaining other transfer speculations.
Suarez is allegedly working on an Italian language exam to secure an Italian passport.
Making the fate of Suarez all the more complicated are fresh reports that Atletico Madrid has also expressed interest in the striker.
According to Deportes Cuatro via AS, Suarez is on the radar of Los Indios.
The report further claims that Suarez prefers a move to the Spanish capital over Juventus.
For now, some take the Instagram post of Suarez as a sign that he is staying with the Catalan giants.
