Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his desire to improve his playing squad and Arsenal could still sign Houssem Aouar before the end of the transfer window.
The Gunners might not have to break the bank as Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas changes his terms.
The update follows the news that Real Madrid and Juventus were interested in beating Arsenal to the signing of the 22-year-old, with the Italian media noting a reduction in his price-tag.
According to Calcio Mercato, Aulas has requested a minimum offer of €50m, which works out as £45m.
The previous reports had suggested that Arsenal had only climbed up to £35m with their previous offer, but the likely outgoing deal for Lucas Torreira would give them additional funds.
Arteta said when asked about Aouar this week: “I am very confident with what we are trying to do internally.
“The clarity and support that I am finding from everybody at the club to try to improve the team as we can, but most importantly, to get the right balance in the squad for now and the way we want to evolve the squad in the future.
“So, we are all very much aligned. I'm afraid I cannot give you any updates or news.”
