Despite interest shown in the Nigerian 16-year-old, who is currently playing for Millwall’s youth sides, Chelsea may yet miss out on Samuel Edozie.
Fellow Premier League club Manchester City now seem prepared to secure the youngster’s services, according to the Evening Standard.
Both City and Chelsea are known to have wondrous youth set-ups that provide their young players an opportunity to either go out on loan or make cameo appearances for the first team before probably cementing a place.
Scouts from both sides have observed Edozie at U16 games and the winger has most assuredly impressed.
Normally, Millwall are interested in holding on to Edozie, but the opportunity of being in and around a top-four side in the Premier League rather than the Championship reportedly interests the Nigerian.
City, who have gotten to the final of the FA Youth Cup four times in recent years, are not scared of spending serious cash on their youth sides.
The Blues missed out on the Youth Cup this year, a competition that they have dominated this decade, so obviously want to strengthen.
