Man City Make £40m Bid For Copa America Star To Replace 23-Year-Old

Man City Bid £40m Everton Soares

Manchester City are in pole position to sign Gremio's Copa America superstar Everton Soares to Pep Guardiola's Premier League winning team, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The jet-heeled winger has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs for a few months now but interest is set to skyrocket once the Copa America comes to an end.

The 23-year-old Gremio star has been by far and away Brazil’s most exciting performer, scoring two beautiful long-range goals as Tite’s hosts limped through the group stage, failing to convince before the 5-0 trouncing of Peru.

And Tuttomercatoweb claims that City have stepped up their efforts to tempt Everton to England by making a bid worth £40 million.

City are at the front of the queue, too. AC Milan were keen but, since the sporting director, Leonardo returned to PSG, it seems the Rossoneri are no longer in the race.

The Premier League champions’ interest is only likely to raise speculation once again about the future of Leroy Sane with Bayern Munich still flirting shamelessly and publicly with the German international.

Everton, like Sane, is a fast, direct left-winger after all.
