Man City Provides Injury Update Ahead Of Carabao Cup Final Vs Chelsea

Carabao Cup

The fitness of John Stones, Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus is giving Manchester city a serious concern ahead of Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola said all three are ‘getting better' as they bid to be fit for the first Carabao Cup final of the season and what could be the first leg of a historic season for the Blues.

While Guardiola is hopeful all three are close to a return, he believes it is too early to make a decision about their availability for Sunday.

Guardiola also refused to nail his colours to the mast over who would start in goal against the Blues.

Aro Muric has started every Carabao Cup game so far this season and he was the hero of the penalty shootout win over Leicester City in the quarter-final.

Those are the only senior appearances the 20-year-old has made for City and Guardiola could yet be tempted to turn to Ederson for the Wembley showpiece.

“We will see, I have to think about that,” Guardiola said of his goalkeeping conundrum.
