Pep Guardiola knows that he has to target the right players and make sure to add the right replacements.
The duo of Fernandinho and David Silva are growing older and replacing the Brazilian will be harder than replacing the Spaniard, especially since Bernardo Silva’s arrival.

It is also why a move for Olympique Lyon star Nabil Fekir makes no sense whatsoever, with the Manchester Evening News reporting as such.
Fekir is a wonderful player and Manchester City would do well to get him, but not when they already have someone like Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and even Riyad Mahrez.
All three players are more than capable of doing what the 25-year-old will bring to the team and given Fekir’s price-tag, it does not make sense.
However, that won’t happen, not if the Cityzens decide to go and waste £60million on a player that they don’t need.
It would be detrimental to the Frenchman’s career and it will affect the morale at the Etihad Stadium
Don’t get me wrong, Fekir is a world-class star and would do very well in the Premier League but not if he joins City in the near future.
