Manchester United have reportedly been in secret meetings with former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino about taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Red Devils have publicly insisted they’re behind the Norwegian, who they only made permanent boss back in March last year.
However, talkSPORT journalist, Phil Brown has claimed that the Red Devils have been holding secret talks with Pochettino who has been out of work since leaving Tottenham in October.
“What I’ve been told is United have been talking with Pochettino for a few weeks now,” Brown said on Twitter.
“He doesn’t want the job until the end of the season.
“He doesn’t want the job until certain requirements have been met.
“I’ve been told by someone who would know, who I trust 100 per cent and who has given me stuff in the past and been bang on so is clearly informed.
“They’ve been talking to Pochettino for a few weeks but most likely if anything happens it’ll be at the end of the season.”
Pochettino narrowly missed replacing Ernesto Valverde as manager recently by Barcelona, instead, the Catalan giants chose Quique Setien.
