Man Utd News: Mourinho Explains why he dropped Pogba in Liverpool Defeat

Jose Mourinho has shockingly claimed that he did not consider using Paul Pogba at any stage during Manchester United's loss to Liverpool on Sunday.

Pogba was left on the bench for the entire match as United sunk to a 3-1 defeat at Anfield.

After the 2-2 draw with Southampton earlier this month, Mourinho branded Pogba a ‘virus' in front of his United teammates after the midfielder gave away possession on numerous occasions during the game.

The France international has not started a Premier League game since that incident and has been left as an unused substitute in United's last two league fixtures.

After the defeat to Liverpool which has left United 19 points behind Jurgen Klopp's side, Mourinho was in no mood to explain Pogba's omission in great detail.

Asked if he ever considered bringing Pogba off of the bench, Mourinho replied: ‘No.'.

Pogba has been heavily linked with a return to Juventus, while former United captain Roy Keane told Sky Sports that he expects the 25-year-old to be sold.
