Manchester United are ready to sign Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez this summer if Paul Pogba decides to quit Old Trafford in August
The 28-year-old French World Cup winner has refused to sign a new and improved contract amid strong interest from Paris Saint Germain.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be forced to sign a replacement midfielder before the new season starts on August 14.
Atletico have financial problems and are willing to listen to offers for the Spanish international Niguez, who is one of the highest earners at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
United bosses have been long-time admirers of 26-year-old Niguez and believe Atletico would accept an offer in the region of £50m.
Niguez helped Diego Simeone’s men win the La Liga title last season and was instrumental in helping them reach the 2016 Champions League final.
