Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update at Friday’s press conference on three of his star players ahead of the Premier League opener against Leeds United.
Edinson Cavani is one of the players who will not be available for the Red Devils’ clash against Leeds after he was given extra time off this summer for ‘personal reasons’.
His veteran striker signed a one-year contract extension at Old Trafford at the end of last season before returning to South America for this summer’s Copa America campaign.
Eric Bailly and Amad Diallo are also still to return to training after representing Ivory Coast at the Olympics.
‘’Edi is in the country,’’ Solskjaer said.
‘ ‘[But] he’s just finishing off his isolation period. He’s had a little bit of extra time for personal reasons.
‘‘Eric and Amad are also in the country waiting to get the all-clear to join the team again.
“They’ve had a very exciting summer, of course, been in the Olympics [and] played games before that as well, so they should be fit before they come.’’
