Barcelona have seen a lot of big-money bids turned down for Willian already during the current transfer window, the latest of which was in the region of £65m.
However, the Spanish champions yesterday confirmed that they have signed a £37m transfer with Malcom, after hijacking the deal from Roma at the 11th hour to bring the Bordeaux man to the Camp Nou.
Spanish newspaper Sport claims that Barca moved for the Brazilian winger after being put off by Chelsea’s £70m valuation of the Brazil international, leaving Man United as the most likely destination for Willian.
The 29-year-old has no problem with the idea of leaving Stamford Bridge after becoming frustrated by his lack of play time last season, but new manager Maurizio Sarri has talked about his desire to keep him at the club.
Willian will turn 30 before the new Premier League season starts and has scored 44 goals in 236 appearances during his five-years at Chelsea.
