Manchester United Submit Fresh Offer To Sign £75m-Rated Star – Report

Manchester United Fresh Offer Issa Diop

According to France Football, Manchester United have presented a fresh offer worth £45m plus either Marcos Rojo or Matteo Darmian for Issa Diop but West Ham want more.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is seeking to strengthen his squad this summer after a disappointing campaign and United need to fix their defence after conceding 54 goals in their 38 Premier League games last term.

A new long-term partner for Victor Lindelof is needed and the Red Devils have been linked with the likes of Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt and Kalidou Koulibaly of recent.

Diop then emerged as a target earlier this month after widespread rumours suggested Solskjaer’s side had shown their interest in signing the Frenchman having seen an opening offer knocked back by West Ham.

It looks like the Manchester giants have tested West Ham’s resolve once again as France Football report that the Red Devils have gone back and offered £45m plus the chance to have Darmian or Rojo as part of the cash-plus-player deal.

However, it seems Manchester United will have to come up with something more tempting as the French publication says West Ham have rejected the deal and are demanding a staggering £75m [€84m] for Diop’s signature.

The Under-21 international enjoyed a magnificent debut campaign in the Premier League after joining West Ham from Toulouse for £22m last summer so naturally, the Londoners are desperate to keep hold of him.

The 22-year-old's contract at the London Stadium runs until 2023 so the Hammers are under no pressure to sell but France Football hint they may end up being forced to cash-in if MUFC raise their offer to about £58m [€65m].
