Former national team coach, Fanny Amun has counselled the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to drop the Golden Eaglets coach, Manu Garba after Nigeria’s ouster from the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria were knocked out of the tournament after losing 3-1 to the Netherlands in the Round of 16 in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Amun, who coached the Nigerian side to win the 1993 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Japan, told Brila FM in a chat that the NFF must strategies and sack Garba to give other coaches the chance the manage the team.
“The essence of participating in the competition is development; for the Coaches and players,” Amun stressed.
“It isn’t about winning. The FA should have a rethink about the appointment of coaches. They should look towards extending their tentacles to other Coaches.”
