The Argentine national team have released Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia from international duty while keeping Giovani Lo Celso and Christian Romero in the team.
The exit of Martinez and Buendia is certainly unconnected to the drama that happened in Sunday's FIFA World Cup qualifying tie between Brazil and Argentina.
Martinez, Buendia, Lo Celso, and Christian Romero were named in Argentina's starting eleven for the clash against Brazil despite being investigated by the Brazilian health authorities.
This means the Villa duo will return to their Premier League club and should be available for Aston Villa's match against Everton on the weekend.
It's however uncertain whether Buendia and Martinez alongside their Tottenham friends will be reprimanded by the English FA as they've been to Brazil which is on the UK's red list of COVID-19.
