Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has withdrawn from the England squad for Euro 2020 this summer.
The teenage sensation was forced to withdraw due to an “underlying injury problem” – believed to be a groin issue – after being assessed by the England medical staff.
A source close to the Manchester United ace admitted he is devastated at having to miss what would have been his first major tournament with the Three Lions.
Greenwood made his England debut in the Nations League victory over Iceland last September.
But he flew home in shame after being thrown out of the squad after being caught smuggling women into the team hotel in Reykjavik with Phil Foden.
The 19-year-old was then axed from the Three Lions set-up, but worked hard to regain Southgate’s trust and was rewarded with a recall earlier this month.
