Arsenal have started well as they recorded a 3-0 victory over Fulham in their opening fixture of their first full Premier League season under Mikel Arteta.
And the Gunners’ boss has subsequently lavished praised on the early impact of Willian at Arsenal following their win over Fulham.
The former Chelsea winger set up goals for both Gabriel and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after Alexandre Lacazette had given the away side a deserved lead at Craven Cottage.
Arteta has since noted that Willian doesn’t do much talking in the dressing room but already looks to be a valuable asset on the pitch.
“When that happens, some players have a full stomach” said Arteta in reference to Willian’s consistent performances for Chelsea following his move there in 2013.
“With Willie, I got the feeling that he wanted more, that he wanted to do it again with a different club.
“So, I’m really pleased. I think I’ll explain that to some of the players.
“We have a lot of young players with big talent and big futures, but they need role models.
“Willie is a really good one to have around the place, because he doesn’t talk so much in the dressing room, but does his talking on the pitch.”
Arteta also mentioned the fine performance of Gabriel in his review of the victory.
