Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged Mikel Arteta to offload defender Shkodran Mustafi.
Wright reckons Arteta should make selling Mustafi his priority, following the German’s yet another disappointing performance in the 2-1 defeat by Chelsea on Sunday.
“Mustafi was absolutely petrified of him [Tammy Abraham],” Wright said on Match of the Day 2, referring to Chelsea's winning goal.
“You have got someone like Arteta coming in but there’s nothing you can do to coach a defender of his experience now, those are the type of players he’s got to be looking to get rid of.”
Despite Arsenal’s loss at the Emirates, Wright believes Arteta's side has what it takes.
He added: “When you look at the two games there’s a definite improvement in Arsenal.
“You just think what they could have done had they gone with the appointment after the Leicester game at the international break.
“It’s one and two touch all the way and it's really quick. Fantastic zip, the fans should be happy with what they’re seeing at the moment but give Chelsea credit for what they’ve done.”
Indeed, Abraham's late finish stole Chelsea a dramatic 2-1 Premier League victory over the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.
