Tottenham have suffered a major injury blow after Son Heung-min was ruled out for the season with a broken arm.
Son suffered the fracture during Sunday's 3-2 win over Aston Villa and the club have confirmed surgery is required.
A statement on Tuesday read: “Heung-Min Son is to undergo surgery this week after sustaining a fracture to his right arm.
“The South Korea international suffered the injury during our win against Aston Villa on Sunday.
“Following surgery, our medical staff shall be reviewing management options for Son’s rehabilitation with the player expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks.”
Jose Mourinho then told reporters that he is not expecting the Korean winger to play again this season.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday's game with RB Leipzig, the coach said: “I am not counting on Son playing again this season, in my mind no.
“We are going to miss him. The club wrote a nice statement. If I was the one to write the statement I would write differently. We miss him.
“The situation couldn't be worse. That is obvious. There is nothing we can do. We are going to play with the players we have available.
