Harry Kane has again failed to attend training with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.
But according to the London Evening Standard, the England captain is expected back at the club later this week despite trying to force a big-money move to Manchester City.
The Standard reported that the 28-year-old is said to believe the situation has been blown out of proportion, with Spurs now thought to be fully aware of his plans.
Kane went public with his desire to leave Tottenham at the end of last season but has also remained silent this week.
He has grown frustrated at the north London club’s failure to win a major trophy since 2008, with their latest letdown coming in last season’s League Cup final defeat against the Premier League champions.
Kane believes he has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Spurs which allows him to move this year.
But with three years left on his contract, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no intention of selling his club’s prized asset, who is valued at around £150 million ($208 million).
