‘I Need Toni Kroos To Partner Paul Pogba At Man United’ – Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has told Ed Woodward that he wants to sign Toni Kroos this summer transfer window.

Kroos represented Germany at the ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup, where his unstoppable free-kick from a sharp angle earned Germany a 2-1 win over Sweden in the group stages.

His rocket wasn't sufficient to keep Germany in the tournament, however. A 2-0 defeat to South Korea saw them crash out of the competition in the final match.

Now it is reported via Spanish outlet AS that the Manchester United boss has told CEO Woodward that he sees Kroos as the ideal partner for Paul Pogba.

The German international is tied down to a contract with Real Madrid until 2022. And with a release clause at €500 million (£443m), there are definitely obstacles for the Red Devils to surmount if they want to tie the 28-year-old Real Madrid star down to a deal.

It's also thought that, in the same talk between manager and CEO, Gareth Bale was named as a transfer option, too.

The Welsh attacker has been out of favor at the Santiago Bernabéu, but the recent managerial appointment of Julen Lopetegui could alter all that.

“Obviously I need to play. That hasn't happened this season for one reason or another,” Bale told BT Sport following his side's 3-1 victory over Liverpool in the Champions League final last season.

“I was injured for five or six games and I've been fit ever since. ‘I'll have to sit down in the summer, discuss it with my agent and take it from there.”

Bale and Kroos would certainly be welcome inclusions to the Man United team, a side who are hoping to build on an underwhelming season last year.
