New Real Madrid Signing Alaba Tests Positive For COVID-19

Real Madrid's new boy David Alaba has tested positive for the coronavirus, the club has confirmed on Wednesday.

Details about Alaba's condition was not immediately released by the Spanish club.

Alaba was a week ago officially introduced by the 13-time European champions after joining from Bayern Munich.

The addition of Alaba is expected to help make up for the departures of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos.

Recall that Madrid striker Karim Benzema tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

Real Madrid, coming off a season in which it failed to win any titles, plays its first match of the season at Alavés on August. 14.
