Neymar is reportedly close to a thrilling return to Barcelona, two years after departing the Catalan giants to join PSG.
Amid scepticism surrounding his future, Real Madrid have always been viewed as frontrunners due to Florentino Perez's admiration of the Brazil international.
However, Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte state that the 27-year-old is on the brink of a remarkable return to Barcelona.
It is said Barca have been holding talks with PSG chiefs so as to make a return happen.
Discussions are said to be ‘well under way' and there is a likelihood he may even touch down back at Barcelona next month.
The La Liga outfit are hesitant to shell out a mega-amount for Neymar and are alternately trying to haggle with PSG by using stars of their own as bait.
Ousmane Dembele may be involved in the operation, two years after he ended from Borussia Dortmund.
Ivan Rakitic, who PSG have long cherished, may also be used as bait.
And so too Samuel Umtiti, whose future is uncertain amid Barcelona's chase of Ajax prodigy Matthijs de Ligt.
Meanwhile, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi criticised the Samba star recently in an interview with France Football magazine.
“I want players willing to give everything for the shirt, the club and join for the project,” Al-Khelaifi said.
“Nobody forced Neymar to sign for us. Nobody pushed him here. He knowingly signed up for this project.”
