Philippe Coutinho has completed his loan move to Bayern Munich and that means Barcelona are only likely to step up their pursuit of re-signing Neymar even further.
The Bundesliga outfit have the option to buy at the end of the campaign.
Barcelona were able to get the German giants to take on all of Coutinho’s wages.
That frees up around £12.4million of annual salary on Barcelona’s books and that will likely be used to try and complete a move to re-sign Neymar before the end of the European transfer window.
Neymar has reportedly made it clear to Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to leave and the Ligue 1 champions are said to be happy to see the back of the forward, but only for the right price.
Now that Coutinho has gone out on loan, that opens up the possibility of Neymar making a similar move to the Nou Camp.
Recent reports suggest PSG are open to loaning the Brazilian to Barcelona with an obligation to buy next summer.
But the French giants will likely demand more money than the world record £200m fee they paid for him in 2017.
Neymar currently earns £34.7m at PSG, but he is said to be willing to take a pay-cut in order to return to La Liga.
