A deal has been formalized between HotSports Media Group and the Nigerian Television Network (NTA), as the Official Exclusive Marketers of the 32nd African Cup of Nations, which kicks off in Cairo on June 21.
According to Punchng, NTA will broadcast all games on terrestrial TV channels across Nigeria, with the Super Eagles among 24 teams vying for the trophy on July 19.
There are other tournaments in the NTA and HotSports marketing partnership which include the U-23 AFCON in Egypt in November 2020 AWCON, 2021 U-20 AFCON in Mauritania, the 2021 U-17 AFCON and 2020 CAF Super Cup.
NTA Director-General, Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in Abuja last week, said “As far as the 32nd AFCON is concerned, it is significant for Nigeria because this is the first time the competition is going to feature 24 teams.
“Nigeria is participating for the first time in four years, so NTA feels it has a responsibility to beam the matches to the homes of Nigerians and viewing centres across the country.”
Responding, the President/CEO of HotSports Media Group, Taye Ige, said, “We went into this partnership with Africa’s largest television network to make these tournaments a very memorable viewing experience for Nigerians comparable to what they find in other networks in and outside Nigeria.
“We will be giving live reports to Nigerians, pre-match, match and post-match at prime time.”
