Former Super Eagles forward Obafemi Martins has signed for Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.
The 35-year-old, who joined the club as a free agent, is joining the team for the second time in his illustrious career that saw him play in Spanish LaLiga, English Premier League, Italian Serie A, Major League Soccer among others.
Martins has been out of action for close to two years after he was released by the Shanghai Shenhua after suffering a long term injury.
Few months after the ex-Inter and Newcastle star was released, Martins has now made a dramatic return to the club as a replacement for Odion Ighalo who agreed on an extension with Manchester United until January.
During his first stint at the club, Martins scored 32 goals in 59 matches.
Shenhua will face reigning CSL champions Guangzhou Evergrande on the opening day of the season on July 25 and Martins could make his second debut.
