Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has cautioned Nigerians – and indeed other African nations – to take heed against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world right now.
Ighalo was speaking with Ghana’s Nana Aba in an Instagram video when he was asked to advise his fans in Nigeria and Ghana.
The ex-Super Eagles star immediately made it clear that the pandemic isn’t a joke nor a sham as some persons think in some quarters.
‘’I will tell my fans that this is not just exaggerating, the world is going through a very difficult time now. It isn't easy, I pray for all those we have lost who are affected by this virus but this is real, Ighalo told Nana Aba.
‘’Anybody that doesn't believe me is okay but what I know is that it’s real and it's killing people all over the world.
‘’You need to listen to what the Government are saying, take precaution measures, wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, wear your face mask. Be safe.
‘’I don't pray this thing gets too much in Africa because many people are going to lose their lives. It is spreading fast even the case in Nigeria now is growing every day.
‘’It’s a very sad time, we pray everything goes away very soon.’’
