‘Odion Ighalo To Start Against Watford’ – Solskjaer

Odion Ighalo Start Against Watford

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that Ex-Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo could start his first game for the Red Devils against Watford on Sunday.

The 30-year-old Nigerian has made two substitute appearances since joining from Shanghai Shenhua in the last two games.

Anthony Martial has started both the Chelsea and the Club Brugge games over the last week, no doubt leaving him a little jaded.

And having shown he is fit and raring to go, Solskjaer has suggested strongly that the deadline day loan signing could be in line to make his first start on Sunday.

“Mason's been ill,” the Norwegian explained when asked about Greenwood’s situation and if that could impact Ighalo’s case for selection.

“Odion is getting more and more minutes, it depends on Mason as well of course, and Anthony how he is.”

That means Ighalo’s first start for the Red Devils could come against his old club in Watford.

But the United boss doesn’t think a visit from his old employers will make too much difference to Ighalo’s performance on Sunday.

“Everyone says that when they score against their old team,” Solskjaer fired back when quizzed if the Nigerian would raise his game. “But there are also many games when you don’t score against your old team.”
