Former Lille striker, Victor Osimhen and his SSC Napoli teammates could be in danger of contracting coronavirus after the Serie A side’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, tested positive for the dreaded virus.
Here’s how Napoli revealed the situation on their official Twitter handle: “SSC Napoli. can confirm that president, Aurelio De Laurentiis has tested positive for COVID-19 following test on Wednesday”
On the part of Football Italia, here’s what they wrote: “Controversy is growing after De Laurentiis who tested positive for COVID-19 dined with other club patrons and did not self-isolate despite having symptoms.”
According to La Repubblica late Thursday night, one of the representatives of the 20 clubs at the Lega Serie A meeting on Wednesday was said to have tested positive for COVID-19.
Napoli thereafter released a brief statement on Thursday morning confirming President De Laurentiis was positive for the Coronavirus.
De Laurentiis had some health issues in 2019 and is in the age group to be considered at-risk, so it’s possible he will be admitted to hospital for observation and treatment.
