Paul Pogba crazily celebrated Jose Mourinho's departure from Manchester United on Tuesday morning by insisting ‘he f***ked with the wrong baller'.
Mourinho was finally relieved of his duties at Old Trafford earlier this week following the club's worst start to a top-flight season since 1990. His last game was a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
One of Mourinho's biggest shortcomings was a failure to bring the best out of Pogba, who re-joined the club from Juventus for a staggering £100million in August 2016.
The pair engaged in frequent arguments and Pogba was even stripped of the vice-captaincy in the final few months of The Portuguese boss' tenure.
According to The Sun, Pogba shouted: ‘He thought he could make a fool of me and turn the fans against me. He f***ked with the wrong baller,' at the club's Carrington training ground on Tuesday morning.
The France international faced a criticism led by former Manchester United defender Gary Neville after reacting to Mourinho's sacking with a controversial Instagram post – which he then deleted 10 minutes later.
Pogba put up a smiling picture of himself and wrote ‘caption this' prompting Neville to respond on Twitter: ‘You do one as well!' Neville's fellow Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher also weighed in, criticising Pogba, who deleted his post.
Pogba has had his problems with Mourinho over the last few months. He was stripped of the vice-captaincy over the early months of the season after issues behind the scenes.
