Pep Guardiola says there will be plenty more “Surprises” before the end of the season in the Premier League title race.
Tottenham are also not out of the title race, according to Guardiola, with Mauricio Pochettino's side just five points adrift of leaders Liverpool.
Guardiola is convinced there will be more twists and turns in the tightest title race for years, as his side look to retain their status as champions.
“Three or four days ago we were already done, the champions were Liverpool, but now we will be leading the table if we win tomorrow,” said the City boss.
“So we try to be calm. There will be surprises and it will be tough for teams to win every game – non-contenders have the ability to create problems.”
Although the focus on the title race is on City and Liverpool, Guardiola said it would be foolish to discount Spurs.
“Now we see the table, see the first two or three and we don't look further than that. Chelsea can win games in a row and be a contender.”
