Paris Saint-Germain know it will be very difficult to tie Kylian Mbappe down to a new contract.
The Frenchman’s contract with PSG runs out in 2022 and, after Zinedine Zidane’s comments, a move to Real Madrid could be on the cards.
According to L’Equipe, a contract renewal for Mbappe isn’t top of the Ligue 1 champions’ priorities at the moment and they know it won’t be easy to get him to sign one.
The French newspaper go on to say that the club can’t afford to offer Mbappe the same wages that Neymar earns, 30 million euros a year after tax.
L’Equipe say that there is no contract offer for Mbappe on the table from PSG at the moment.
After PSG’s elimination by Manchester United in the Champions League last term, Mbappe indicated his desire to leave the club.
However, he’s still insisting to PSG that he remains committed and wants to succeed in Paris.
On the other hand, another Champions League disappointment could cause Mbappe to start to question his future and whether he’d consider a move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
