Paris Saint-Germain are allegedly thinking of a world-record £240m offer for Philippe Coutinho this summer.
Coutinho joined Barcelona in January for £142m, but PSG are anxious to keep star player Neymar contented and possibly will look to bring in his Brazil teammate as a result.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that PSG would be willing to spend as much as £240m on the Barcelona midfielder and have made Coutinho's agent aware of their interest.
However, an ongoing Financial Fair Play investigation may possibly scupper the deal after the French champions also spent big money on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe last summer.
Barca would also be disinclined to sell the former Liverpool midfielder, who has a £350m release clause in his agreement at the Camp Nou.
The 26-year-old scored 10 goals in 22 appearances during the second half of the 2017-18 campaign.
