Gernot Rohr has asked the Youth and Sports Development Minister, Sunday Dare to put an end to the embarrassing situation involving the sports ministry and the Nigerian Football Federation, which has negatively affected the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles coach also hopes Dare will help to make good football pitches available across Nigeria.
“I’ll like to see a situation where the conflicts between the Nigeria Football Federation and the sports ministry is resolved,” Rohr told Sports Extra.
“Succeed will elude this country if we don’t stick together. Success is only guaranteed when we are together. I’ve experienced this in all the places I coached. In Burkina Faso where I coached, the minister of sports is always present at the team’s matches; he also paid the salaries of the coaches as well as trips and bonuses.
“It wasn’t different in Gabon with Ali Bongo. He was a big fan and the sports minister Rene Demizur, an ex-player. I don’t see that here.
“There’s no way the NFF will pay to have these good pitches. Such things are the government’s responsibility. I believe they get a budget for it.
“Cameroon are now ahead of us in terms of structures. Likewise Gabon who now boast six stadiums. Solidarity is what we need now.”
