Samuel Umtiti’s agent, Yannick – who happens to be his brother- has spoken about the centre-back’s future at Barcelona amid speculation the club is keen to offload the defender.
The Frenchman has fallen so far down the pecking order at the Camp Nou that he now appears to be surplus to requirements.
Continued injury problems are the main reason for the 26-year-old’s current situation, and Yannick Umtiti has explained it’s possible the World Cup winner could leave.
“Samuel doesn’t want to leave Barça this summer. However, taking into account the club’s wishes and their desire for change, it might be necessary to look at alternative options, he told Foot01.com.
“The rumour with Lyon is good but unfortunately, there’s very little chance of it happening.”
Lyon have spoken about the possibility of Umtiti returning.

Manager Rudi Garcia has said he’d like to have Umtiti back but doesn’t think it’s possible, while sporting director Juninho has said the defender would have to take a pay cut.
