According to reports in Italy, Shkodran Mustafi has been offered to AC Milan, who are considering a loan deal for him at the end of the season.
As per Italian outlet Tuttosport (via Il Milanista), the club could attempt a move for Mustafi, and they claim it’s possible the defender will leave the Emirates this summer.
At the moment, it’s not sure precisely how the German will leave, with both a loan and a permanent transfer still on the table.
Milan transfer news account @NonEvoluto on Twitter add that Mustafi has been offered to the Serie A side, and they will make a pronouncement over whether to sign him at the end of the campaign.
The centre-back has had his standard season with the Gunners, with some good performances cancelled out by individual errors at critical moments losing games.
From the penalty against Spurs at Wembley to ducking out of the way of Wilfried Zaha at the Emirates, Arsenal fans have lost patience with Mustafi.
That doesn’t mean he couldn’t succeed somewhere else, in a different league in a different system.
Trying to make that work is almost certainly the best for all parties at this stage, so if Milan are interested, that’s a start.
