Liverpool are still very much interested in signing Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi, according to reports.
The Telegraph say that the Reds will try to sign someone in the next 48 hours as injuries to Fabinho and Joel Matip had forced Liverpool into the market.
But the report also say that Liverpool have immediately dismissed links between the club and several centre-backs.
But there was apparently one rumour the Anfield outfit didn’t not rule out so quickly and that’s Shkodran Mustafi.
The 28-year-old could leave Arsenal imminently on a free transfer.
Mustafi’s current deal expires in the summer but as he’s not playing, the German could be free to join someone this month for nothing.
Jurgen Klopp’ side may want to take advantage of that, then.
They’d get an experienced international defender for nothing, who can fill a gap until the end of the season.
