Stats Prove Odion Ighalo Is A Man United Transfer Masterstroke

Stats Ighalo Man United Transfer Masterstrokes

Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is starting to gather himself a rather impressive record, thank God for his January signing Odion Ighalo.

The Nigerian was a loan deal much criticised by many, but both the on-loan Shanghai Shenhua man and Bruno Fernandes have started as a dream under Solskjaer.

Between them, they've scored seven goals already, with Fernandes winning February's PFA Premier League player of the month and Ighalo nominated for UEFA's Europa League player of the week.

But the stats, aside from just goals and awards, back up the signings.

Ighalo is notching either a goal or assist (he currently has four goals and one assist for the Red Devils) every 70 minutes that he plays, while Fernandes is doing the same (three goals and four assists) every 77 minutes.

And going back to the summer signings, Maguire is the second-highest-rated centre-back in the Premier League after Virgil van Dijk this season, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has the second-most tackles in the league behind Leicester's Ricardo Pereira, while James has more assists than any other United player.
