The Super Eagles of Nigeria have now moved up two spots up from last month in the latest FIFA rankings for this month of September.
Gernot Rorh’s men were ranked as the 29th best team in the world even though they did not kick a ball in the month under review by FIFA.
Only Senegal (20th) and Tunisia (26th) are the African teams rated better than the three-time African champions.
No thanks to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the Eagles last played a full international in November 2019, winning a 2021 AFCON qualifier in Lesotho 4-2.
Meanwhile, two friendlies have been organized in Austria for Nigeria.
Nigeria battle Cote d’Ivoire (60th) on October 9 and four days later they tackle the higher-ranked Tunisia.
