Henry was linked with a move to Villa Park, but new owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens chose to stick with manager Steve Bruce.
Bruce will lead Aston Villa into the new season after being given the green light by the club’s new owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens.
Increasedrummor in recent times had suggested that Thierry Henry will be replacing Bruce ahead of the new campaign.
“Aston Villa can confirm manager Steve Bruce has met majority owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens and will continue as manager with their full support,” a short statement on the club’s website says.
The new management have shown faith in Bruce and given him a fresh chance to guide Villa back to the Premier League after missing out by a whisker in the play-off final last season.
Some Vila supporters believed that it was time for a fresh change and Henry represented the chance of a new dawn and a new era at the club.
