And, on the back of a productive season in the Championship with Hull City, the 22-year-old was consequently snapped up on another temporary deal by Italian outfit Torino last summer.
The youngster went on to play a pivotal role in the impressive campaign, racking up 30 league appearances as Walter Mazzarri’s men finished in 7th-place in the Serie A table.
And the 7-time capped international’s fine form at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino appears to have proven more than sufficient to convince the club’s hierarchy of his long-term future in Turin.
Torino have secured a deal with the Blues, whereby Aina will join the Granata on a permanent basis this summer.
The contract is said to be worth 10 million Euro, with an official statement expected imminently.
