Tottenham are set to place a significant fine on Harry Kane after the striker failed to report back to the club on Monday.
Spurs are disappointed by his decision and in the circumstances, the club have no choice but to hit their talisman with a substantial fine for breach of contract.
The final penalty is likely to be dependent on how the situation unravels, with it unclear when or whether Kane will agree to return to the club in the foreseeable future.
Kane is yet to give reasons for not showing up on Monday for Spurs training but the England captain is desperate to join Manchester City this summer.
The Premier League champions have indicated that they would be willing to pay £100million, plus players in part-exchange, for the 28-year-old.
Spurs are thought to value Kane at closer to £150m and have insisted they do not want to sell their vice-captain, who has three years remaining on his contract.
