Trabzonspor speed up chase to sign Onazi’s replacement

Trabzonspor to sign Onazi's replacement

Reports indicate that Trabzonspor are looking to sign a replacement for injured Super Eagles midfielder Eddy Onazi in the January transfer market.

It has been confirmed that Onazi, who was pictured being fed birthday cake on his hospital bed by the club president, will likely not feature for the side again in the ongoing 2018/19 campaign after undergoing surgery for an injury he endured against Rizespor.

As per Karadeniz Gazetesi, Trabzonspor will reignite their interest in Burkina Faso international Charles Kabore, who is at present on the books of Krasnador in Russia.

With over 90 international caps to his name, the 30-year-old was is one of Africa's most experienced players and also holds a French passport, having earlier played in France for seven years.

Kabore was the captain of the Burkina Faso side that lost 1-0 to the Super Eagles in the final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, battling the Nigeria international in midfield.

However, the chase has become more aggressive due to the fact that Super Lig rivals Besiktas have also increased their interest in Kabore's signature.
