Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is eyeing a move for Bayern Munich star Niklas Sule ahead of the summer window.
According to the Athletic, the West Londoners have earmarked Sule for a while, and talks have intensified in recent weeks.
The 25-year-old German international will have just one-year left on his deal at the end of the season and head coach Hansi Flick’s imminent departure could see any negotiation for Sule left on the back-burner.
Bayern have already confirmed the signing of Dayot Upamenaco from RB Leipzig and there are question marks over whether Sule is ready to be a long-term replacement for David Alaba.
Along with Sule, Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane is another name linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
AS claim that Los Blancos would be open to sell the French World Cup winner, with his contract set to expire in 2022.
The report claims that Tuchel wants to ‘incorporate’ Varane into his squad and will have another chance to scout the player when he comes up against Chelsea into the Champions League semi final next month.
