Tyronne Ebuehi is expected to surgery in August to heal his latest injury blight.
Benfica’s official channels disclose that Ebuehi will need corrective surgery after suffering a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.
Benfica further confirmed that the former ADO Den Hag of Holland right-back is set for a long layoff due to what has been termed ‘seriously’ damaged knee ligaments and will go under the knife in few days.
The club stated: “Tyronne Ebuehi suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee and will undergo surgical intervention in the next few days.”
The 22-year-old, who won his first competitive cap for the Super Eagles when he got off the bench in the 2-0 win over Iceland at the just concluded World Cup in Russia, played his first match for Benfica last week as a second-half substitute in their pre-season friendly against Victoria Setubal.
The fair-skinned lad also went on as a second-half substitute in Benfica’s 1-1 draw with Juve at the 2018 International Champions Cup in the United States.
