Two Nigerian players made the headlines for the right reasons after the completion of the matchday three UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
The pair of Leon Balogun and Victor Moses were picked amongst other outstanding players as the UEFA Europa League team of the week compiled by the statistics website, whoscored.com.
In the list published by football facts and statistics website whoscored.com, Balogun alongside his teammate who assisted his goal on Thursday night, James Tavernier made the cut in the defensive department and were partnered by Marcão of Galatasaray and Monaco's Henrique.
Balogun scored his first ever goal for Rangers when he put them ahead in the 2-0 win against Brondby. The 33-year of Nigerian international nodded in a cross from James Tavernier to hand Steven Gerrard's side the lead.
However, he was forced off in the 64th minute and was replaced by Calvin Bassey due to a hamstring injury.
Victor Moses provided two assists in Spartak Moscow’s 4-3 home defeat to Leicester City. The former Chelsea and Liverpool winger plays from the right hand side of the midfield alongside Leicester City's James Madison, Grûll from Rapid Wienn and Lorenzo Insigne of Napoli.
